James
H. Duff has been Executive Director of the Brandywine Conservancy
since 1976 and Director of the Conservancy's Brandywine River Museum
since 1973. Following are his comments regarding the Conservancy's
"Building for a New Century" campaign:
"The Brandywine Conservancy's plan for expansion is extremely complex
and includes building additions, replacements and renovations.
Our goal is to alleviate crowded conditions resulting from the
great success of the Brandywine River Museum and Environmental Management
Center. Additional offices and storage space for works of art and
other materials will directly enhance our public programs. Two additional
galleries and a children's classroom in the museum will provide
for the pleasure and education of our visitors.
Plans developed by Grieves, Worrall, Wright and O'Hatnick are exciting.
We are delighted with them because they provide esthetically pleasing,
even dramatic, buildings that will relate to existing structures
and address our needs very well."
