Mr.
Grieves served as President and Principal-in-Charge of Design for
the firm of Grieves Worrall Wright & O'Hatnick, Inc. for seven years.
Now partially retired, he serves as a design consultant for some
of the firm's current projects. A registered architect since 1960,
Mr. Grieves is experienced in all phases of project planning, administration,
design and implementation. He has directed all types of major architectural
projects for educational, commercial and institutional clients.
Mr. Grieves served as president of the Baltimore chapter of the
American Institute of Architects and has received numerous national
and local design awards. In 1982 he was elected into the College
of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Grieves
received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University
of Virginia and a Masters of Fine Arts in Architecture from Princeton
University. He was awarded a graduate fellowship from Princeton
and the Alpha Rho Chi Medal from the University of Virginia. He
is registered in ten states and holds an NCARB certificate. Mr.
Grieves was elected to the position of Fellow in the American Institute
of Architects in 1982 for his design and preservation abilities.

Selected Project Experience
Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford, PA.
Master planning and subsequent gallery expansion, including new
galleries, conservation and art work rooms, administrative facilities,
as well as renovations to existing facilities and the design of
two new administrative buildings.
Visitor Center and Entrance Station at Everglades National Park,
FL:
Project Director for new center which will serve to orient and educate
park visitors to the park environment. The project includes interior
and exterior interpretive exhibits as well as a theater, presentation
room and bookstore.
Hackerman House/Walters Art Gallery Museum of Asian Art, Baltimore,
MD:
Principal-in-Charge and Design Principal for creation of gallery
space in a restored National Register property; includes visitor
and staff support spaces. New security and environmental control
systems were provided.
Walters Art Gallery, Renovations to 1904 Building , Baltimore,
MD:
Principal-in-Charge and Design Principal for study and evaluation
followed by design work including exterior restoration and new,
historically correct copper roof; upgrading of public galleries;
increased storage and work areas; security monitoring station; and
completely new environmental controls.
Marine Mammal Pavilion, National Aquarium in Baltimore:
Principal-in-Charge and Design Principal for this project which
required sensitive integration with important adjacent natural and
man-made environments.
Alexander Hall (Richardson Auditorium) and McCarter Theatre, Princeton
University, Princeton, NJ:
Principal-in-Charge and Design Principal for both projects, which
involved renovations with new interior and exterior additions and
technical upgrades to two theaters within existing historic buildings.
