Paul
Hume joined the firm of GWWO in 1993 as an Intern Architect, was
named an Associate of the firm in 1998 and became a Senior Associate
in 2000. A key project manager, Mr. Hume has led the design and
production team for several of the firm's recent projects.
Paul has an extensive planning and design background of cultural,
educational and institutional projects. He has served as Project Manager
for several of the firm's projects with the National Park Service
and was involved in work at the Everglades Visitor Center and Harpers
Ferry National Park. In addition, he has served as Project Architect
for work at the Kellogg Heritage Center & the National Museum of Civil
War Medicine. Currently, he is completing work as the Project Manager
for renovations and new facilities for the Brandywine River Museum.

Selected Project Experience
Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford, PA. Master planning and subsequent
gallery expansion, including new galleries, conservation and art
work rooms, administrative facilities, as well as renovations to
existing facilities and the design of two new administrative buildings.
Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, Harpers Ferry, WV. Rehabilitation
of six 19th century historic buildings in Harpers Ferry's McGraw
Block for use as exhibition space, administrative spaces and a dry
goods store.
Everglades Visitor Center, FL. New center serving one million patrons
per year. Includes exhibition space, a theatre, a gift shop, an
information center, visitor comfort facilities and an enclosed observation
pavilion.
Kellogg Heritage Center, Battle Creek, MI. Site recommendations,
programming and designs for a joint Kellogg Center and a Battle
Creek Historical Center.
Virgin Islands National Park, Trunk Bay. Design of new visitor
service facilities to accommodate expanded park visitation. Facilities
utilized indigenous materials to integrate with surrounding architecture
and respond to the site.
Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, Baltimore,
MD. Performed a complete analysis of all historic fabric, including
200,000-sf of masonry surfaces and provided preliminary plans and
programming for the incorporation of interpretive exhibits.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Manteo, NC. Planning and design
for the restoration of two historic lifesaving stations and the
incorporation of interpretive exhibits.
National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Frederick, MD. Planning,
programming and conceptual designs for renovation and adaptive reuse
of an historic urban commercial complex to a medical museum.
