WINTER WEEKENDS FOR FAMILIES
AT THE BRANDYWINE RIVER MUSEUM

(January 2004, #001)

Need a cure for cabin fever this winter? Come and discover the wonderful world of art at the Brandywine River Museum during Winter Weekends for Families from January 31 through March 14, 2004.

Explore the museum's galleries with a "Museum Discovery Game" where your powers of observation will be tested to find objects represented in works of art throughout the museum. As part of Winter Weekends, visitors will also receive a free copy of the "Family Guide: A Museum Activity Book." The Family Guide contains a treasure of activities for children to use during their museum visit or at home.

Selected children's items will be on sale at reduced prices during Winter Weekends in the Museum Shop. In an exclusive offer that will not be repeated again this year, visitors may purchase new annual Family Memberships to the Brandywine River Museum for 50% off the regular price. Pre-registration for Winter Weekends is not necessary.

Exhibiting American art in a restored 19th-century grist mill, the Brandywine River Museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of Wyeths and its fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting. Located on U.S. Route 1 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, the museum is open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Christmas Day. Admission is $8 for adults; $5 for seniors ages 65 and over, students with I.D., and children ages 6 to 12; and free for children under six and Brandywine Conservancy members. Individual audio tours can be rented for $3. Group rates are available with advance reservations.
