CHADDS FORD, PA – The Brandywine River Museum invites families to enjoy many fun-filled special events and activities this summer
During Free Sunday Mornings in
June, the museum offers free museum admission from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on June 5, 12, 19, and 26. On these free mornings, new family memberships are $15 off the regular price.
Children’s Audio Tours are available for use in the museum’s galleries. Designed for children ages 6 through 12, the tours feature an interactive format with over 30 entries on collection favorites, including Bill Bones from N. C. Wyeth’s Treasure Island illustrations, Jamie Wyeth’s Portrait of Pig, and Howard Pyle’s Nation Makers. Like the museum’s audio tour for adults, the children’s tour is contained in hand-held wands, using random-access digital technology that allows children to proceed through the museum at their own pace and to view works of art in any order. Wand rentals are available in the museum shop. Support for the museum’s audio tour for children was provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
On Sunday, June 19, the Young Friends of the Brandywine Conservancy host the annual
Children’s Concert with Tom Chapin at the N.C. Wyeth Studio. Chapin and fellow performer Michael Mark will entertain families with songs promoting environmental awareness and fun. All proceeds benefit the Brandywine Conservancy. For information and tickets, visit
