For Immediate Release
CHADDS FORD, PA—Children's Audio Tours are now available at the Brandywine River Museum. The interactive
tour, designed for children ages 6 through 12, features fascinating comments on over 30 works of
art, including Bill Bones from N.C. Wyeth's Treasure
Island, Jamie Wyeth's Portrait of a Pig, and Howard
Pyle's Nation Makers.
The tour follows the adventures of Joe and
Jen, a brother and sister who visit the museum after their canoe trip on the Brandywine River. Once
inside, they meet a curator named "Art" who guides them through the collection.
Like the museum's audio tour for
adults, the children's tour is contained in hand-held
wands, using random-access digital technology that allows children and students to proceed through the museum at their own pace and to view works of art in any order.
Audio tour wands are available at the Museum Shop. Visitors can rent one audio tour for $3 and get the second one free.
Support for the museum's audio tour for children was provided by the Institute of Museum and Library
Services, a Federal agency.
Located on US Route 1 in Chadds Ford,
Pennsylvania, the Brandywine River Museum is open
daily, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Christmas Day. Admission is $8 for adults; $5 for seniors ages 65 and
over, students, and children ages 6-12; free for children under six and Brandywine Conservancy members. For more
information, call 610-388-2700 or visit the museum's website at
