RENOWNED ARTIST JAMES WYETH TO SIGN COPIES OF CAPTURING NUREYEV EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

WHAT: Artist James Wyeth will sign copies of the exhibition catalogue for Capturing Nureyev: James Wyeth Paints the Dancer. The exhibition, which features over 40 paintings and drawings of dancer Rudolph Nureyev by Wyeth, is currently on view at the Brandywine River Museum.

PRICE: The book signing is free with museum admission ($6 for adults; $3 for senior citizens, students, and children ages 6-12; free for children under 6 and Brandywine Conservancy members).
Copies of the catalogue are available in the Brandywine River Museum Shop for $39.95 (hard cover) and $29.95 (soft cover), plus tax.

BACKGROUND: The catalogue, Capturing Nureyev: James Wyeth Paints the Dancer features paintings and drawings by James Wyeth, photographs documenting Rudolph Nureyev's ballet career courtesy of The New York Library for Performing Arts, Jerome Robbins Dance Division, and many images depicting the dancer's personal relationship with the Wyeth family. It also includes an introduction by Clive Barnes, essays by Barbara Cohen-Stratyner and Lauren Raye Smith, and contributions by Phyllis M. Wyeth and Lynn Seymour.
