AUTHOR AND BRANDYWINE NATIVE DR. NINA CHANDLER MURRAY TO SIGN COPIES OF HER BOOK
(May 2003, #013)

WHAT: Author and Brandywine Valley native Dr. Nina Chandler Murray will sign copies of her recently-published book, The Cruise of the Blue Dolphin.

The Cruise of the Blue Dolphin is a witty account of a family's unique adventures and surprising triumphs during the Great Depression. Facing hardships like other Americans of the time, the authorís father took an uncommon approach to prove that his family could thrive and prosper on its own terms. Gathering a crew of extended family members and sailors, he embarked on a yearlong sailing trip from Gloucester, MA to the Galapagos Islands and back. Along the way, they face a hurricane, sharks, some friendly and not-so-friendly port of calls, and a wide variety of life-altering experiences.

The Cruise of the Blue Dolphin celebrates strength of character and resilience, and the ability of individuals and families to learn from each other.

WHEN: Sunday, May 18, 2 to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Brandywine River Museum
U.S. Route 1 and PA Route 100, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania
