| Brandywine Conservancy Environmental Director Resigns to take Position at Duke University (#034) Kathryn A. Saterson, Director of the Brandywine Conservancy's Environmental Management Center, has resigned from the Conservancy to accept a position at Duke University as the Executive Director of the new Center for Environmental Solutions. Her last day with the Conservancy will be July 13. "We are grateful to have had Kathryn Saterson leading our environmental programs," said Brandywine Conservancy Executive Director James H. Duff. "She has contributed much knowledge and expertise to our ongoing preservation efforts. She will be missed, but we are delighted that she will be utilizing her extensive academic background to further her contributions to environmental protection." "I will truly miss working with colleagues at the Conservancy and our many partners across the region who are so committed to local conservation efforts. I am confident that the outstanding staff of the Environmental Management Center will continue to have a lasting impact on the land and water resources of the region through their work with individual landowners and municipalities," said Kathryn Saterson. In her new capacity at Duke University, Saterson will be facilitating interdisciplinary analysis and action on environmental issues with faculty across University departments. Saterson joined the Conservancy in February 1999. As Director, she has managed all aspects of the Environmental Management Center's planning and operations, overseeing the three principal programs: Municipal Assistance, Conservation Design and Land Stewardship. Since 1967, the Brandywine Conservancy's Environmental Management Center has provided conservation solutions to landowners, farmers, municipalities and developers. The Conservancy's professional planners, natural resource managers and specialists in historic preservation, horticulture and landscape architecture provide the sophisticated experience needed for comprehensive land use planning and management.
